Hey DC Hoop Enthusiasts~

Having witnessed the vibrant hoop vibes at local events and festivals in the Triangle area, the organizers of this years Jordan Lake Arts & Music Festival have invited hoopers to come play. They are so excited about the hooping presence that they are giving FREE PASSES to hoopers! I thought I'd post the word here since some of you I've met from this area I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with. Just wanted to give y'all the heads up. It would be fun to spin again!

WHAT: Jordan Lake Arts & Music Festival

WHY: FREE PASS for hoopers

WHEN: Sat & Sun, Oct 4 & 5

TIME: 10 am - 6 pm both days

I've been assured the grounds are hoopable (flat and foot friendly.)

CAMPING: If you want to camp, there is a state park by the Lake. The organizers will help shuttle folks from festival site to camping area. Fires are allowed in the state park. (My place is also tent friendly but about 30 minutes away. We could have a bonfire and burn time in the evening:-)

TRAVELING HOOPERS: If you decide you want to come play in the Carrboro area, this week could be a great time. You can get into this fest for free, then stay around for weekly events and hit Shakori Hills Grassroots Music Festival on Thursday (Oct 9 - 12)

OR if the Shakori site doesn't grab you, there is another festival with kick ass music at Deerfields the same weekend. (I'm kinda bummed not to go b/c the Roots and Lettuce + many other groovy bands are playing!)

RSVP: If you are interested in a free pass, let me know. I want to give them a sense for how many folks might come. I'm not sure they can afford to give free passes to every hooper in the triangle and beyond...(geez! I can't imagine how many folks that is:-).

Your attendance or RSVP DOES NOT MEAN: you have to perform, teach, wear furry calf boots, bring extra hoops, join a cult, or even commit to being there rain or shine. We are just trying to get an estimate of potential passes offered.
