Sun, August 31, 2008 - 8:02 PMHey ladies, welcome to the area! Meridian Park in Northwest DC has a drum circle on Sunday afternoons and has brought together some hoopers----although it can get a bit crowded with onlookers, it can be fun, too.
Maybe this Friday after 5 we can meet on the west side of the Washington Monument?

Mon, September 1, 2008 - 1:37 PMHi Manda! Thanks for the Meridian Park info. Friday at the Washington Monument sounds great. (Unless I get called into work that day, but I doubt it at this point.) Want to confirm with each other later in the week? To see if rain is predicted? Does someone usualy bring music?

Tue, September 2, 2008 - 8:27 AMHi everyone!! Welcome to DC. I moved here about a year a go and have found the area to be full of fun hoopers to connect and hoop with. Yay for more hooping buddies! I am traveling until mid September, but intend on focusing on finding indoor space with high ceilings and mirrors when I return for weekly jams through the winter. If anyone has ideas about locations let me know.

Tue, September 2, 2008 - 9:21 AMWelcome to DC. :) If you ever have a day you want to hoop - try Talia's suggestion of using the mailing list/hooping group, and also post up on here and just put the word out! We don't get together regularly, it seems, but mainly it's just due to life being hectic moreso than lack of interest! We have a good amount of hoopers in this area that would love to get together, myself included.
Let's take advantage of this nice weather while we have it! Who's up for a weekend afternoon jam this upcoming weekend, the 6th or 7th? I am in Arlington, Virginia, but am close enough to DC to meet there, too. Manda mentioned the drum circle at meridian Park - its' so fun there. Lots of space, places to park. I look forward to meeting you! -
